Kathleen Lichtenberger, PT, DPT

"Katie" studied Physical Therapy at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. She received her Bachelors degree in Clinical Health Sciences with a minor in Exercise Science in 2011, and her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy in 2013. Katie completed research in several areas including patellofemoral pain and throwing injuries in young athletes.
Before graduating, Katie completed four clinical affiliations including twelve weeks at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center where she worked primarily on the Surgical ICU with patients with severe surgical complications and comorbidities. She also spent time on the Burn Unit, Neurologic Rehab Unit, and the Orthopedic Unit.
Professionally, Katie primarily has experience in outpatient orthopedics. She has treated professional baseball athletes as well as high school-aged athletes from several different sports. Katie has also educated several athletes on injury prevention on and off the field.
Katie incorporates a wide variety of manual techniques into her treatments in order for her patients to receive the best possible outcome. She looks forward to using all of her clinical and professional experience to treat and rehabilitate the diverse population of patients here on Long Island.
